I actually sat in about two weeks worth of lectures for this course last semester. I was on the waiting list, but unfortunately didn't make it. It’s been interesting vaguely remembering a few of the things from those lectures. That instructor (I think it was Pitt) started off with more symbol-heavy examples than Danny has so far, though I could be mis-remembering things.
At the moment the course seems somewhat open ended to me, so I’ll be curious to see where it goes from here. The first tutorial seemed pretty easy, which is a trend I’d like to see continue. Though I could see the course getting a lot more complicated as time goes on.
As the semester starts I’m most interested in seeing how this course relates to my greater computer science education.
